A loan of $775 helped to purchase grocery items and sewing supplies to sell.

Akossiwa's story

Akossiwa is a retailer of grocery items and sewing supplies. She is 33 years old and lives in Lomé with her husband, a retailer, and her two children, aged 6 and 10, both in school. She started her business twelve years ago. Today, she employes one salaried worker to help her.

Akossiwa is completing her third loan cycle at WAGES. She again is requesting a loan to increase her stock of grocery items and more. She plans to redeploy the profits to be made in order to renovate her shop. Over the long term, she hopes to be able to open a second shop.
