A loan of $1,225 helped to purchase stock, including food and beverages, for her general store.

Ekaterine's story

Ekaterine is 40 years old and lives in a small village of the Kareli district. She is married and has two children (3 and 14 years old). Her husband has a combine harvester and harvests grain crops.

The family makes their living through an agricultural business. In particular, they own a plot of land where apples, potatoes and haricots are grown. Ekaterine is also involved in an animal husbandry business. She has two milking cows and five calves. Ekaterine milks the cows every day and produces cheese. The cheese is sold locally. Ekaterine runs a general store near her house as well. Ekaterine and her husband work hard from early morning till late evening to improve the living conditions of the family.

Ekaterine requested a loan to expand her general store by buying a greater variety of products, foods and beverages in particular, to stock her store and better satisfy her customers. She hopes her business runs smoothly and will generate a higher income to assist her in improving her family's living conditions.
