Ganimete is a 38-year-old married woman, with children. For more than two years now, she has been running a second-hand business selling used shoes. Ganimete and her husband buy shoes from Germany, and then they sell them in a big market outlet in Kosovo.

This is how they provide income for their living needs and family. According to her, this has been a profitable business, and she likes what she does.

Ganimete is in need of a loan to buy more used shoes in order to sell them. The loan will facilitate this process and generate a larger income.

Her goal is to open a shop, which she hopes will offer an opportunity for a better education for her children.

They appreciate this support!

More information about this loan

This loan will support the economic aspirations of minority people in Kosovo. Roma people and ethnic Serbians have historically faced a tremendous amount of hardship in Kosovo, and are still socioeconomically and politically vulnerable. During the 1998-1999 war, the fighting displaced 250,000 people. Among those displaced were an estimated 80-90% of the region’s Roma population. Today, Roma and ethnic Serbians living in Kosovo still face discrimination and are excluded from many aspects of society, including fair political representation and high rates of unemployment. By supporting this loan you are helping provide opportunity to marginalized populations.
