A loan of $800 helped to purchase two calves.

Julio Adalberto's story

Julio is 21 years old and lives with his life companion. He has been working in the buying and selling of cattle for about a year. It was his father that taught him, since he used to accompany his father to the market when he went on Wednesdays. He buys and sells cattle on Wednesdays in a market that is 20 kilometers from his house. He and others pay together for transport to move the cattle and save themselves some money. He leaves his house at 5:00am and returns at 1:00pm.

The loan that he is asking for from Fundacion Campo is to purchase two calves. He will feed them and take care of them until they are in gestation and then sell them at a higher price. Julio says that if it wasn't for the loan, he would have a tough time getting the money together to buy them. With the additional investment that he will get from the sale of the cattle, he will save in order to build a new addition to his house.
