A loan of $1,150 helped to buy sacks of manure and fertilizers and to hire day workers to help her with crop maintenance.

Virginia's story

Virginia, age 38, is married to 41 year old Raúl. They bought the house they now live in with their three children. She wishes to give them a better quality of life.

She has been farming for 15 years, and with the support of her husband they managed to get their own house and a parcel of land with cacao crops. Her work is very important to her. It is a business activity that she has done for several years, and she knows the problems she will have if she neglects their crops. Her crops generate good income for her for each kilogram that she sells. Even so, she always needs financial support to improve her production.

This is her first loan with MFP. She is grateful to those who support her need to work. She pledges to be punctual with her payments so that she can have another opportunity for a loan at another time.

She will use the requested 3,000 soles to buy sacks of manure and fertilizers. She will also hire day workers to help her with crop maintenance.
