Banco Mujer Emprendedoras De Chilamate Group's story

Banco Mujer Emprendedoras de Chilamate

The group has worked with Fundación Mujer since 2009. It is in the Poas area and made up of 8 women, three of whom are requesting a loan at this opportunity.

They are a group of women entrepreneurs with the idea of receiving economic assistance from Fundación Mujer and of improving their household income, as well as consolidating their group and offering help in their community so that other women can grow socially and economically.

They are a well-known group, with experience working as a team and solidarity is an important part of their work. They maintain group work ethics and have developed other complimentary activities in order to generate income. Among activities they have developed are food sales and raffles.

Three members of the group are paying off their loans in August and are requesting to renew them. Their names are the following: Ana, 53, who is the mother of three children and runs a store where she sells food, sweets and basic staples and waits on her neighbors from 6 in the morning until 8 at night every day. She relies on her husband’s support and the loans she has obtained on other occasions have served to consolidate her business; Deyanira, 54 years old, who is the mother of one son and sells intimate clothing by catalog and finally Angela, 58 years old, who is the mother of six children, all adults, and who sells clothing, which she markets in the community of Chilamate in Poas. This is their fourth loan and they have demonstrated excellent conduct in their payments and their growth, personal as well as economic.

The group relies on assets to develop their business activities which they contributed jointly to demonstrate the solvency of Banco Mujer. They have established their business plan, and care for their homes as well as their businesses.

Apart from the economic help for their business, the communal bank has experience doing things to generate money and to grow. They commit themselves to working as a group in order to move this enterprise forward and to comply with the obligations agreed to with this loan.

The communal bank will support these businesses by seeking their consolidation and support other co-workers in maintaining their businesses. The communal bank has equipment and a customer base for the products that they are already selling. They are a united group, and they have complied with the requested loan terms for the formation of Banco Mujer with respect to the training process and by demonstrating commitment and punctuality in making their payments..
