A loan of $650 helped to buy stock merchandise for her store.

Ernestina's story

Ernestina, 52, is a widow with three children whose ages are 24, 22 and 16 years. She has a grocery store which is a small store that sells in small quantities. For example, cigarettes by the unit, rice and sugar by the pound, shampoo in little bags. Her grocery store is located in her house and she sells daily consumption goods like snacks and basic grains to her neighbors.

She started the business seven years ago when her late husband became gravely ill. She started it with her own funds aiming at improving household income and help with her husband’s medical expenses. She wants the loan to invest in her business to improve her working capital and expand the business to improve her income and her standard of living.
