A loan of $1,475 helped to purchase agricultural inputs for the maintenance of his land.

Gustavo's story

Gustavo is 27 years old and has lived in the tropics of Cochabamba, in a community in the municipality of Entre Ríos, for eleven years. He is from the Chitani community of the administrative division of Potosí, in the province of Charcas, one of the poorest places in Bolivia, where the land is bad for production and there is a lot of land erosion. He came from the south to the tropics like the majority of the people looking for better life opportunities. In his community the employment opportunities were dwindling, which is why he decided to leave. Over the course of years he worked as a farmhand in many agricultural jobs. He worked as a follower. With a lot of work and effort he bought his own agricultural lot, where nowadays he works in the agricultural sector. The loan he is requesting is to enable him to maintain his crops, which will allow him to keep growing. His biggest wish is to expand his crops, and in this way he can improve his standard of living.
