A loan of $975 helped to buy plywood to roof her warehouse.

Tessie's story

Tessie, 50, lives with two nieces who she cares for in the house she inherited from her parents thirty years ago. She only has one daughter who is independent now and lives in a different city.

Tessie has difficulty walking but despite that she’s very hardworking and does not lose heart in face of life’s challenges. She’s had a warehouse in the front of her house that’s centrally-located in the city that she set up 17 years ago. She receives several sacks of potatoes and other products every day to be stored. She wants to upgrade the warehouse now because the roof has holes in it. “It’s the only source of income I have so I have to take good care of it,” she comments.

This is her sixth MFP loan and she feels at ease because of the support she gets; she’d also like to give thanks for the trust that’s placed in her. She promises to make her payments punctually so as not to disappoint her group which is composed of supportive, responsible people.

Tessie will use this money to buy plywood sheets to roof her warehouse.
