Kulmairam's story

Kulmairam is 49 years old, a widow and a mother of three children. Her youngest son attends a fifth grade. Kulmairam, left alone after her husband's death, decided to get involved in sales of food products to provide a source of income for her family. She started this business with a sum of 50,000 som (KGS). Thanks to Kulmairam's hard work, today her monthly income amounts to about 10,000 som. Besides this, she is involved in making pies and baked goods, which also bring in a small income. In order to further develop her business, Kulmairam requested a loan in the amount of 130,000 som (KGS) from the "Bai-Tushum and Partners" company to increase her product turnover by purchasing tea, vegetable oil, butter and sugar for making jams. She plans to invest the earnings from the loan into expanding her business by adding a cafe.
