David's story

David is a man of 34 years old and lives with his mother and a young nephew in the community of San Rafael de Florencia de San Carlos, in the province of Alajuela. This rural community has a great deal of development potential through agricultural activities. The area has a warm climate that permits the production of certain fruits that can be grown better thanks to this type of climate such as mangoes, melons and other local fruits. The area of Florencia is characterized by its national parks and its extensive variety of flora and fauna.

David tells us that his family's only income is his. He studies at night and also takes charge of the education of his nephew. He has a hydroponic greenhouse in which he grows tomatoes and sweet peppers and now he wants to make it larger. He needs to buy seeds, chemicals, sand, and plastic tubing for irrigation among other materials. He is requesting a loan of one million forty thousand colones to achieve his goals. He belongs to the Crédito Comunal de ECCSAR S.A. This will be his first loan and he is very grateful for the opportunities to access credit that this gives him and to be able to complete his projects.
