Samuel N.'s Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva based in Makeni, Northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you this group of teachers from a primary school in Kenema, a city in Eastern Sierra Leone. They have applied for a loan of 14,800,000 SLL in order to solve their immediate financial problems. At the end of each month, they will repay the loan using their monthly salaries. Samuel is the leader of this group. A native of Moyamba, the 52-year-old is married and has six children attending primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions. Samuel has served in the teaching profession for 33 years now. He has requested this loan in order to buy house building materials such as iron corrugated zincs, sand, cement, iron rods, nails, etc. for the construction of a family dwelling on the plot of land he bought with his just-repaid Kiva loan.
