Samet's Group's story

Samet is 33 years old and married. She has five children, four of whom are dependent on her as they are still in school. She and her husband provide for their family from the one hectare of farmland, planting cassava, and one hectare and a half area growing paddy. She has been in this business for fifteen years.

Samet is a third loan cycle client with Kiva partner VisionFund. She has managed her past loans with success in obtaining better living conditions, especially daily decent food for her family. Now, she is forming a group of two members to apply for a new loan. She and her member are seeking for 1,400,000 KHR and 1,000,000 KHR, respectively. As the leader, she is going to use her loan portion to buy fertilizer and to pay for a tractor’s leasing fee (plowing fee). She hopes to receive better yields so as to earn more income in order to maintain a good standard of living for her family.
