Mujeres Progresistas is a communal bank made up of 7 members who live in different places in the city of Cuenca. This city is bathed by 4 rivers and has different places to enjoy nature. Its city center is mixture of colonial and modern. It's people are kind and very hardworking, like our members. Despite adversities, they never stop smiling and thanking God for one more day of work to improve the stability of their families. One of the members of this group is Ana. She is an enteprising woman who is on her third loan in the communal bank. She is married and 33 years old. In her marriage she has had 2 children, aged 16 and 14. They go to high school in the city. Her husband works outside the city because he has migrated to seek better opportunities to get his family ahead. The house they live in is their property, the fruit of their work as a couple. Ana spends her time in her house, dedicated to her family. To contribute to the family finances, she raises chickens and guinea pigs. She also farms and sells her harvests in the city market. She is going to invest the money in buying seeds, fertilizer and chickens in order to keep growing her business. Her goal is to have a grocery store.
