A loan of $4,650 helped a member to buy tools and materials.

23 De Julio Group's story

The communal bank “23 de Julio” is made up of thirteen members, ten women and three men. The president of the bank is Jose, who is twenty-four years old and has a son who is seven. Jose makes a living by repairing cars. He has been an auto body worker for many years. His garage is in the town of Abapo, where he offers his services.

This loan is his first with this institution. Jose is going to use this loan to buy tools and materials and therefore provide better service to his clientele and increase his profits. His reason for requesting this loan is to continue improving in his work. Jose will use the benefits to continue buying tools to continue equipping his garage. Jose is a very hard worker. He feels glad for the opportunity provided to him and to his fellow group members since in some cases they support their families alone.
