A loan of $2,025 helped to buy a motorcycle.

Rolbin's story

Rolbin is thirty-three years old and married with three little children. He is the family's only source of income. He lives with his wife and children in a community called Osa, located in Caña Blancal, in the province of Puntareñas. This community is noted for being an often-visited rural area because of its beautiful beaches and the diversity of its fauna and flora. Tourism and agriculture are the principal economic activities.

Rolbin is in urgent need of a motorcycle to transport himself to work since he lives many kilometers from where he works. Moreover, he affirms that he will use the motorcycle on the weekends, loaning his services to local restaurants to deliver fast food to the home. In this way he will earn a little extra money for home expenses.

Rolbin is currently requesting a micro loan of one million colones (¢1.000.000) to buy the motorcycle that they are offering him and to be able to achieve his goal.

He is a member of the Empresa de Crédito Comunal de Caña Blancal, one of the 110 member organizations of EDESA in Costa Rica. With this loan he hopes to improve in part his economic situation.
