Honduras
Morazan, Yoro, Honduras / Food Production/Sales

A loan of $1,350 helped to buy materials like zinc sheeting, wood, and cement to build a business stand attached to her house, to buy supplies for making food, and to buy clothes to sell.

Jessica Karina's story

Jessica, age 36, is a single mother with three children. She lives in the municipality of Morazan, Yoro.

Jessica has been selling food by order for six years. She sells chicken with fried plantains, roasted meat, and other foods by request. She also sells new and used clothes in an itinerant manner. In order to keep her business active, she has invested various loans from ODEF.

She is now requesting another loan for 26,000 lempiras, which will be her 12th loan. She will use this loan to buy materials to build the business stand attached to her house from wood. She will do this to give her customers better service. She will use part of the loan to buy supplies to make food and clothes to sell.

She hopes to continue growing in her business because her goal is to support her children’s education.
