A loan of $500 helped a member to buy fertilizers for her farmland.

Saret's Group's story

Originally from the Thmor Koul District of Battambang Province, Cambodia, Saret is a 34-year-old mother of four children; two of whom are dependent on her and still in school. She is a rice farmer to make a living while her husband is a construction worker in the village. Together, they can earn about 20,000 KHR per day from the current business and can manage to save about 10,000 KHR each day. Saret’s group consists of five members. She has been with VisionFund for five cycles while the other members have been with VisionFund from the first to five cycles. The past loans have helped her better support her family’s business and children’s education. Now, she is leading her group to apply for a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland and construction materials such as cement and sands, etc. for supporting her husband's business. She hopes to increase her income so as to improve her family’s lifestyle and keep her children in school.
