A loan of $725 helped a member to buy fertilizers and rice seeds for her farmland.

Pov's Group's story

Pov, 25, is widowed and lives with two children, one of whom is dependent on her and still in school. Pov is a peasant who grows corn on 5 hectares of farmland and sometimes works for others for a fee. Having been in this business for almost 10 years, she can earn about 8,000 KHR per day to feed her family’s needs. The main challenge for her is lack of capital for supporting her business.

Pov has been with VisionFund for 4 cycles while the other members have been with VisionFund from 1 to 3 cycles. The past loans has helped her afford sufficient food. Now she is leading her group of 3 to apply for a loan. As the leader, Pov is going to use her portion to buy fertilizers and rice seeds for her farmland and use a portion of it for laborers. She hopes to earn more income so as to expand her current business and improve her living condition.
