A loan of $500 helped a member to buy grains (corn, rice), canned foods, and condiments.

Mahoulome Group's story

The group MAHOULOME comprises three persons who reside in the same district. The group's representative, Bernadette, is the one in the photo with her hand raised. She is 37 years old and married to a man named Didier. The couple have four children, not all in school but all in their care. Bernadette lives together with her husband and children. The couple share in covering the different household expenses.

To help with the different expenses, Bernadette has been selling grains (corn, rice), canned foods, and condiments out of her home. This business enables her to meet her needs without much problem. She gets her supplies from a market in Benin.

Seeking to satisfy her customers and to increase her sales and revenues, Bernadette, along with the other members of the group MAHOULOME, is requesting a fourth loan from ALIDé. This loan will enable them to raise their level of business and to grow their customer base and their revenues. The previous loans received were indeed paid back.
