A loan of $650 helped to provide snacks to sell, and to buy backpacks and hand bags to sell as well.

Carolina's story

Carolina is from Cacahotan in the State of Chiapas, Mexico. She arrived some 3 years ago in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, looking for a better quality of life and to improve family income.

Carolina, with the help of her husband Juan, established a snacks business, “Snack El Elote,” which has been a great help in covering the expenses generated in educating their 2 children; Nacho who is 9 years old, and Caro aged 6. Carolina needs a loan to fortify her business, increasing the volume of merchandise she sells.

In fact, she not only sells snacks and diverse foods, she has also experimented with selling backpacks and hand bags. Carolina's location is very close to a school and there are many women passing by, taking their children to school. As a result, she also wants to invest in these additional items, since it is almost time for classes to resume and she believes new merchandise will be good for sales.
