A loan of $1,850 helped a member to buy a sewing machine for making polos in her seamstress shop.

Corazon De Jesus Jauja Group's story

Good morning from Peru!

Today I will tell you about Carmen Rosa, one of the members of the Corazón de Jesús Jauja Group, a group that is beginning its third cycle. Carmen is the mother of three children. All of them are school age. She lives with the father of her children who works as a heavy equipment operator, but his work is only temporary.

Carmen has a seamstress shop that she began when she was expecting her first child four years ago. The necessities that she shares with her partner was the encouragement for her to buy a sewing machine to offer her services to the neighbors. Over time her facility became known and she needed more capital to buy more sewing machines and other accessories as she couldn’t meet the demand of the orders which were increasing. She will use the loan to buy a special sewing machine for making polos.

Carmen Rosa has the dream of her children becoming professionals. Also, in the future she wants to have a larger workshop and a wider variety of machines which would offer her the possibility of making all kinds of clothing (pants, polos, bags, etc).

Carmen is located in the upper part of the photo, the first on the left with glasses and wearing a white blouse. Also in the upper part you can see Alcides and Sayuri.

In this group: Carmen Rosa, Flor De Maria, Alcides Magno, Sayuri, Evelyn, Nadezhda, Katherine
