A loan of $3,300 helped a member to buy dried fish and miscellaneous items.

Fatou Dia's Group's story

Mrs. Marie is a 59-year old married woman and the mother of two, a son and a daughter. She has been a member of the “banc villageois” since its creation. Her group is composed of women living in the same village and sharing the same social values. In the photo she is standing on the far right raising her hand, dressed in a pink outfit with a flower pattern. Marie has been selling dried fish and miscellaneous items for a number of years.

With her new loan of 50,000 West African francs, she will buy dried fish and vegetables. Her revenues allow her to grow her savings in the “banc villageois” and help her husband with family expenses.
