A loan of $600 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her farmland and also soil for refilling her house.

Ang's Group's story

Ang is 35 years old and married with two daughters, both of whom are dependent on her and still in school. She lives in a rural village of the Battambang province’s Thmor Koul district of Cambodia. For her children’s sake, she has been involved in rice cultivation as the main source of income for 15 years. For her family, the main challenge is the drought, which reduces her crop yields. Ang has been with VisionFund for six cycles and completely paid back the past loans, while her co-member is just a first-cycle client. She has successfully used the past loans to support her children's education and save some money to set up a pole at her house. Now she is leading her group to request a loan; she and the co-member are taking out a new loan of 1,400,000 KHR and 1,000,000 KHR, respectively. Ang is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland, and some portion will be used to buy soil for refilling her house. She hopes this loan will enable her to earn more income from the current business so as to improve her living better.
