Sinouch's Group's story

Age 26 years old, Sinouch has one son who is under school age living in a rural area of the Ek Phnom district of Battambang province, Cambodia. Sinouch has been growing paddy rice, beans, and corn for about 5 years while his wife also helps to generate additional income via fish selling. Drought is the main challenge for the field business. Sinouch’s group consists of two members who live in the same village. Now he and his fellow group member are applying for their first loan in the amount of 1,000,000 KHR each with Kiva partner VisionFund. As the leader, he is going to use his portion to buy fertilizers for his farmland and use a portion of it to spend on water pumping for his rice field. He hopes this loan will enable him to make more income so as to have a good living.
