Oscar's story

Oscar, 29, works in agriculture. He’s married and lives with his wife and baby in a community in south Costa Rica located in Concepción de Pilas, Puntarenas. The local economy is based on agriculture and animal husbandry where growing tubers, coffee, corn, beans and cattle raising stand out.

Oscar is asking for an 800,000 (¢800.000) colones loan to buy corn and bean seeds, manure, insecticide and fungicide to provide crop maintenance and protect it during the growing process so that he can provide quality products for his customers. Family income depends on this activity so he strives to do it in the best way possible. Oscar is a member of the “La Danta, S.A.” communal bank one of the 150 communal credit firms in Costa Rica.
