A loan of $575 helped to buy corn seeds and organic fertilizers.

Yanett's story

Yanett is 40 years old and lives with her two children, Milagros and Sharon, in the house she inherited from her parents. As a child she learned how to do hard agricultural work, however she still does not own her own agricultural land although she has 14 years of experience as a farmer. Her principal crops are potatoes, maize and carrots, which she very carefully tends every day from the early hours until dusk. “I have established buyers who come to the farm to buy the entire harvest,” she states.

She belongs to the San Santiago Communal Bank and this is her first loan from MFP. She is grateful for the opportunity provided and promises to make her payments on time. Yanett will invest the money from this loan in the purchase of corn seeds and organic fertilizer to spread in her potato and corn fields.
