A loan of $850 helped to buy more chicken meat.

Silvia's story

Silvia, 40, has two children, Devid and Jack that she lives with. She’s an admirable woman because she’s recently separated from her husband and now has to face her children’s education and support by herself. To do so, she works tirelessly in the city market selling chicken meat. She’s been in this business for four years and is very well-known among her customers. In the afternoons she opens the doors to her store that she’s had for a year at home. She also sells meat, chickens and turkeys there that she sells after she fattens them up. And if that weren’t enough, along with a partner she invests in her land to manufacture bricks. She puts in the land and her partner the clay and wood chips to bake bricks. All her profits are used to cover expenses at home and of her children.

She belongs to the “Los Emprendedores” (The Enterprising Ones) communal bank and this is her 14th MFP loan. She is grateful for the support she’s gotten to reach her goals. She promises to make her payments. Silvia will use this money to buy more chicken meat for her business as well as products for her store.
