A loan of $1,450 helped to purchase seeds and fertilizer.

Simeon Bernardo's story

Simeón is 51 years old and lives in the home he owns in the community of Tolomosa Norte in the city of Tarija. Simeón is married and has five children, who are ages four, six, seven, nine, and eleven. He has been farming for thirty years.

Simeón has to work to provide for his children. He tells us he wants to have better financial income so that he can get ahead, but says he needs to buy more seeds and some fertilizer in order to obtain better results from his production and also increase his income. Since he already has experience in this business, he will use the loan directly to purchase the seeds and fertilizer he needs for his work, so that he can increase his income.

Simeón tells us he wants to improve his children's standard of living, and in order to do so he needs to improve his income. He will use the next loan he requests to improve his housing conditions.
