A loan of $1,300 helped to repair her greenhouse.

Ekaterine's story

Ekaterine, 38, is married and lives with her husband, Irakli. Ekaterine and Irakli run their own agricultural business. In particular, they have a milking cow and two pigs. Ekaterine milks the cow every day and produces cheese. The family also owns two greenhouses where tomatoes, greens and maize are grown. They sell vegetables, cheese and piglets at the local market. Irakli has a farm tractor and cultivates plot lands. Ekaterine and Irakli are very hard-working but they still don’t have enough income to make some savings to expand their business.

Ekaterine requested a loan to repair the greenhouse because it is old and damaged. She is asking for a loan to buy building materials. After the greenhouse is repaired, Ekaterine will plant more vegetables there and will sell the harvested product for a good price. With this, the income of the family will significantly increase and both members of the family will be able to improve their living conditions.
