Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $950 helped to buy 3 containers of peanut oil at 25 liters each, 4 sacks of rice, a basket of tomatoes, and a box of milk.

Béatrice's story

Béatrice, aged 31, is married and the mother of four children. The oldest child is 14 years old, and the youngest is 8. Béatrice has a stall where she has been selling sacks of rice, canned foods, and other grocery items for six years. She gets her supplies from one of the markets in Benin.

With the aim of bolstering her sales and responding favorably to customer demands, Béatrice requested and obtained financing from Finadev. This financing will enable her to help cover her children's schooling costs and to buy some medicine for her mother, who is ill.
