A loan of $950 helped to buy 10 lengths of 'pagne' cloth, 2 dozen pieces of secondhand clothing, and 6 pairs of shoes of various types.

Mawulawe Hortense's story

Mawulawe Hortense, aged 33, lives with her husband and is the mother of three children, who are in a local school. For seven years, she has been selling 'pagnes' (the colorful cloth of western Africa), secondhand clothing, and shoes in a store located in the heart of the city. She stocks up from one of the markets in her sub-region.

With the aim of growing her supplying capacity and satisfying customer demands, she requested and obtained financial aid from Finadev. This aid will enable her to bolster her business fund and to help with her children's schooling costs. She would like to expand her business in order to capture most of the market and to help out her husband to subscribe to Benin's potable water supply.
