A loan of $400 helped to purchase sacks of flour, butter by the kilo and lard to make her pastries.

Virginia's story

Virginia is 44 years old. She lives with her parents and siblings in the house they bought 30 years ago. Her principal income is based on the sale of clothing and baking. She greatly enjoys the latter since she is well versed in confectionery and has her own machines.

She makes empanadas, alfajores , sponge cakes and other pastries every day, an average of 90 items at a minimum, which she delivers to various stores in the area. The seasons when there is the greatest demand are those of national holidays and Christmas. During those months she has to hire personnel to help her. A short while ago she ventured into making elaborate cakes because of special orders, such as for marriages and birthdays, and she hopes to energize her sales to gain more experience and customers.

This is her first loan from MFP. She enjoys working with her group because the members are people she knows. She also promises to be punctual in her payments. Virginia will invest this money in the purchase of sacks of four, butter by the kilo and lard to make her pastries.
