A loan of $1,350 helped to buy a bread-making machine.

Ada's story

Ada, 44, has three children and they live in a rented house in the town of Chilca.

She has been making bread all her life and is now running a bakery that she inherited from her father and which has been in business for 42 years. She works every day, alongside her brothers, and only takes Sundays off. She sells bread, pastry, cookies and other types of bakery products. She enjoys her work very much because it allows her to have her own business and feel the personal satisfaction of meeting one's goals. In the future she wants to buy machinery to optimize her productivity.

This is her fifth loan through MFP and she wants to improve her business, since she has many ideas. She enjoys working with her communal bank because all of the members are acquaintances in her business sector and they all learn from one another. She is committed to paying back the loan on time, and will use the money to buy a bread-making machine to make more bread.
