Roddy Alfredo's story

Roddy lives in Tinguiña District in Ica, Perú. Tinguiña District is noted for its hot climate as well as for being a district that’s been improving every day and above all growing thanks to the efforts of its residents. When Roddy has free time available he very much enjoys playing soccer with his friends and neighbors in his neighborhood. He also likes spending family time with his little boy who he loves very much and strives daily to get ahead to provide him with a dignified life despite daily difficulties that arise. Due to his family’s limited economic resources he was only able to go to 11th grade but would have liked to attend university.

With much effort and dedication above all, Roddy works as a taxi driver because with earnings from this job he’s able to cover household expenses.
He works about 10 hours daily and can tend to up to 30 customers per day. He believes he does well in his business because he’s a hardworking and above all very kind to his customers.

Roddy is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they’ve given him he will be able to service his vehicle, especially remove the motor to check it out. He will also be able to repair the vehicle’s gas tank because he’s been having many breakdowns and now he will be able to have a safer vehicle and provide safety for his customers and avoid serious accidents so that he can continue striving towards making his greatest dream a reality: to provide his son with a profession.
