A loan of $1,150 helped to buy manure and fertilizer.

Julian's story

Julian is 42 years old, and lives in the city of Camana with his wife and 6-year-old son. In his free moments, he likes to watch the news and educational programs, and on some occasions he cooks a delicious Arroz Chaufa (a Peruvian fried-rice dish) to share pleasant moments with his family. Unfortunately, because of a lack of economic resources and the need to work to help his parents, he wasn't able to finish secondary school, but he really would have liked to do so.

Thanks to his entrepreneurial spirit and his desire to move forward, Julian works in agriculture. He has a small plot of land on which he grows beans. He works about 12 hours a day at his business and he feels very comfortable in his work, since he was always liked field work.

Julian is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since thanks to the help provided, he will buy able to purchase manure and fertilizer and he will be able to maintain the crop. This way he will be able to sustain the harvest of his crop and increase his income, with which he wishes to assure the education and well-being of his young son.
