A loan of $1,550 helped to make improvements on her insecure home, for the family's safety.

Ana Maria's story

Ana is a 29-year-old woman who is happily married and lives in the city of Ica with her spouse and their 2 small children whom she loves dearly. They are her principal reason for living. Ana is a very good, hard-working and enthusiastic person who, together with her husband, dedicates all her efforts to advancing her family. Lamentably, due to her need to work and cover their costs, she was unable to study for the nursing career that she really desired -- Ana would have liked so much to be able to do that. In her free time, Ana likes to share memorable moments with her family and on occasions, to cook a tasty Carapulcra con Sopa Seca [Meat and Potato Stew with Dry Soup] just to spoil them. With great effort and enthusiasm, Ana began a small store selling groceries. She begins work every day from early hours of the morning, dedicating approximately 12 hours a day to her business. Ana believes that it is going well, due to her dedication and the good treatment she extends to her customers. Ana is very grateful to Kiva lenders, because thanks to their help, she will make improvements on her home. At present, her small house is constructed of mats and cardboard, and the roof is plastic sheets. Now, Ana will be able to construct a house of adequate resistant materials. Thus, she hopes to offer her family more security and well-being.
