A loan of $400 helped to buy fabrics to resell.

Penda's story

Ms. PENDA is a married woman who lives in Senegal. She sells fabrics and, at the same time, she has been selling fish for over five years. She is the breadwinner in her family and supports four children, 7 to 14 years old.

She has repaid a loan with the microfinance institution U-IMCEC. Her major goal is to bolster her working capital. This will help her to develop her business further. Consequently, she is requesting a loan of 200,000 francs CFA for buying fabrics to resell. Thus she will be able to respond to the demands of her loyal customer base ahead of the holiday.
