Shorena's story

Shorena is 29 years old and lives in a small village of Keda district. Shorena’s family consists of six members: her husband, Guram, their two children (aged 1 and 4), her mother-in-law, her father-in-law and herself. Shorena’s husband works as a driver and earns a monthly salary. Guram's parents are pensioners. The family members earn their living through an agricultural business. They have 0.7 hectares of land, where they grow vegetables and fruits with the harvest sold locally. The family owns three milking cows as well. Shorena milks the cows every day and produces cheese. She sells the cheese at the local open market.

Shorena has requested a loan to purchase beehives with bee colonies. The bees will produce honey which she plans to sell in nearby villages. This will increase the family's income. With the increased profit, Shorena will be able to reinvest in the family's agricultural business to expand it and make it more profitable. Taking into account the above-mentioned points, the family's living conditions will improve.
