Bol's Group's story

Bol, aged 25, is a resident from a rural area of the Sampov Meas district of Pursat province, Cambodia. She has been rice farming on two hectares of farmland for several years to earn a living. She can earn about KHR 10,000 per day from the current business. Drought is the main challenge for her paddy-field business. Bol’s group consists of four members who are all female and live in the same village. She leads the group which is applying for another microloan with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. The first loan has helped Bol to relieve her family’s burden. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland and will use a portion of it to pay labor costs. Bol hopes to increase her income so she can fulfill her dream of running a new business in order to improve her standard of living.
