A loan of $1,350 helped to buy five bags of seeds and fertilizers.

Delfina's story

Delfina, age 30, is married to Emilio, and they have one child. They live in their own house in an agricultural area. She is a courageous woman. Every morning she heads to the field to take care of her potato, pea, and corn crops. One of the things that she finds most satisfying is seeing the result when she negotiates the sale of her products in the city. In order to speed up the work she hires day workers. She pays them every day to work, harvest, and to load the heavy sacks. The earnings that she gets from the sale of her products are good. Therefore, she wants to increase her crops and get more income. She would be assuring her family of a better quality of life. Delfina plans to start planting peas this month. This is her 11th loan with MFP. She is very grateful for the trust placed in her for so many years of working with this institution. She is a punctual member, and she is responsible in her communal bank, “Lindo Amanecer de Cumutay”. The high season for planting peas starts now. She will use all of the money from this loan to buy five bags of seeds (with 2,700 soles). She will buy fertilizers with whatever is left over.
