A loan of $500 helped to buy two sacks of pea seeds.

Manuel's story

Manuel is 57 years old and is married to Dionicia. They have seven children, but now only the youngest lives with them. This family lives in a home of their own, located in an agricultural district.

He has been farming for 20 years, so he is an expert in field labor. He currently raises potatoes and peas on his own land. It happens that the work is very exhausting, so his children help with the planting and harvesting whenever they have time. He is proud of them. He knows how to sell his products well in his own town or in other nearby towns. For this he transports his heavy sacks in trucks. “The buyers buy in quantity, so it’s easier to make sales when you know people,” he says. In the future he plans to expand his crops so he is planting more peas.

He is a member of the “Lindo amanecer de cumutay” communal bank and this will be his 11th loan through MFP. He is very grateful to all those who make this loan possible, as it allows him to continue making progress. For this reason he promises to make his payments on time.

Manuel will invest this money in two sacks of pea seeds.
