Natavan's story

Natavan is a 33-year-old married woman with two sons. She is an IDP (Internally Displaced Person) and lives with her husband and children in an IDP settlement. She has been raising seasonal fruits and vegetables for the last ten years. Her husband also helps to run the business. He fertilizes the land and gathers the crops. Natavan's monthly income is 130 AZN.

Natavan grows apples, pears, peaches, plums and pomegranates and also vegetables. Fresh vegetables are very popular and people consider them healthy. Many national dishes made of vegetable, like pilau and dolma. Fresh fruits are serve at every table in Azerbaijan families and are also used to make fresh punch.

Natavan applied for 700 AZN to buy seeds and fertilizers for her land to increase the crops she produces.
