A loan of $725 helped to buy poultry birds.

Mary's story

Mary has been in farming for eight straight years in her rural home of Kitale, Western Kenya. She also runs a salon to supplement her farming income. She says these two businesses are the source of livelihood for her family of three children, who are between the ages of 3 and 15.

Mary has requested a loan of 60,000 KES from Juhudi KIlimo to buy poultry birds. She says this will boost her poultry farming and help her fully utilize the skills she has acquired during the eight years of her active involvement in farming.

However, she notes that diseases, especially poultry diseases, remain a major challenge that requires skill in order to manage potential outbreaks and deaths.
