A loan of $975 helped a member to buy rubber seedlings to plant.

Kaai's Group's story

Living in a wooden house with her husband and one dependent daughter in Kampong Cham province's Memot district, Kaai is 22 years old. To make a living, she and her husband have been planting cassava for about two years. The current business earns her about 33,000 KHR per day to pay for daily expenses. She manages to save about 20,000 KHR each day for future needs.

Kaai's group consists of four members who live in the same village. Kaai is taking her third loan with Kiva's partner, VisionFund. She has successfully used the prior loans to increase her family's business by leasing a plot of farmland and to improve their livelihood. Now she is leading the other three members to apply for a micro loan. She is going to use her portion to buy rubber seedlings to plant as an additional business and pay for labor. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her family's income to improve her family's living condition.
