A loan of $475 helped to buy coffee plants and fertilizer.

Pomposa's story

Pomposa has made her living producing coffee for more than 50 years. She started with her husband and now she does this activity with her children because her husband died several years ago. She tells us that she spends her time doing the housework and supervising the work on the farms because at her age she can no longer perform strenuous work. Her children are the ones who perform the work in the field and during harvest season she hires people to harvest the coffee. During the last harvest, she produced six tons of coffee. In order to maintain this level of production, she needs a loan to buy plants and fertilizer because some of the plants need to be replaced because they no longer produce coffee.

In addition to making her living by producing coffee, she and her children also produce cane and in this way have greater earnings for the family. Among her personal goals, Pomposa wants to change the roof of her house because right now it is made of metal sheeting and during the hottest months of the year, it is too hot in her home.
