Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,500 helped to plant peanuts and to prepare the land.

Cinthia's story

Cinthia is 27 years old, and she has two children, ages 4 and 2.

She grows a variety of vegetables and potatoes and yucca on her plot of land in the Pacay community. This loan is her first cycle within the institution. Cinthia with use the loan to plant peanuts and to prepare the land. Her reason for requesting this loan is to get resources for the planting and to be able to survive.

Cinthia faces a challenge in her business, which is the inclement weather that often ruins the sown fields. She will use the profits to improve her family’s quality of life because she is responsible for all of the household expenses. She is a responsible and hard-working person. She is grateful to the institution for the support provided.
