A loan of $775 helped to buy more cacao plants, in order to grow them in the portions of his land that are still unplanted.

Lauro's story

Lauro is 62 years old. He is married to Tomasa, 65, and they have three children.

Lauro feels very happy with the work he does, as after working as a day laborer for many years, he is now the owner of his own farmland. Despite the problems, he mustered up the strength to give his family a better life. This is why he devotes himself entirely to growing coffee.

He receives help on a regular basis from his wife and children, but normally at the harvest seasons he hires laborers to speed up the harvest of his crop. He sells his cacao at the collection centers in his community, where he gets a fair price for each kilo.

In the future he greatly desires to expand his small farm and have more hectares, in order to increase his production.

This is his first loan with MFP, so he promises to make the respective payments faithfully. In addition, he appreciates the trust that his communal bank is granting him.

With this loan, he will more buy more cacao plants, in order to grow them in the portions of his land that are still unplanted.
