A loan of $1,500 helped to buy power saws.

Juan Carlos's story

Juan, 29, is married and has a five-year-old son. He’s been selling lumber for the last seven years, an activity he learned from his father who also sells lumber. His distribution point is located in the town of Puerto Rico. This loan is his first sequence in the institution and Juan will use it to buy power saws to cut wood. His reason for requesting the loan is the lack of capital needed to buy work tools which keeps him from being able to cut large amounts. Juan’s business challenge is to rise out of poverty. He will use profits to improve his and his family’s quality of life. His wish is to become one of the best lumber sellers to improve sales and thus profits because this is the only activity that allows him to support himself and his family. Because of this he feels happy and grateful to the institution for the support provided.
