A loan of $825 helped to buy more music machines for her discothèque.

Aidah's story

Aidah is 37 years old and lives in the town of Kireka, in the Kampala South region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children who are all in school. For the past 8 years, Aidah has been working hard to manage her discothèque, where she plays music and provides entertainment.

To help expand her business, Aidah has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan shillings (UGX) from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more music machines for the disco and will help Aidah generate greater profits, which she will use to pay for school fees. Aidah hopes that in the future she will be able to open up a grocery store.

Aidah is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Aidah who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
